About me

Q. How long have you been doing this?

I’ve been working in the field of health and improving personal performance for over fifteen years. After qualifying in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), clinical hypnotherapy and Life Coaching, I became a tutor and examiner at the European College of Holistic Medicine in London, working both in the UK and abroad. More recently I’ve moved to Ireland and now work with clients both in Cork city and in the UK, working from a therapy centre near Frome in Somerset.

Q. What did you do before you started this kind of work?

Before becoming a therapist, trainer and coach, I was a lecturer and researcher at the University of Bristol. I was teaching undergraduates and was a lecturer on an MSc for mostly overseas students. The pastoral role I developed here has proved really useful to the work I do now. There seems to be a growing demand from students who have anxiety/stress and confidence challenges.

Q. Do you keep abreast of advances in your field?

I love learning new things that give my clients even better results. I’m a trained Personal Adviser in Careers and I took training in Family Mediation. Here’s a sample of some of the shorter courses I’ve taken over the past couple of years: Neuro-Hypnotic Re-Patterning (and two other courses) with the co-founder of NLP Dr. Richard Bandler; I’ve attended master-classes with Robert Dilts and with Tim Halbom, working with cutting-edge NLP techniques; an Advanced Course in Psychological Kinesiology; Metaphors of Movement with Andy Austin; Provocative Change and NLP/Hypnosis in Business with Nick Kemp, and Language and Behavioural Profiling with Shelle Rose Charvet.
NLP particularly is an exciting field of study in terms of its scope. It is at the cutting-edge of new technologies that give us brilliant options to effect lasting positive change.

Q. What motivates you?

Perhaps because I’ve now found the work I love, I enjoy devoting time to helping others create lives they love. I want my trainings to be effective, fun and memorable. I’m always happy to chat to existing and prospective clients on the telephone and to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you and to helping you make the changes you want in your life.
